Stunning and fab spot near to the plaza Santa Ana, Puerta del Sol and other great spots and bars and shops.

Excellent transport links via the main bus, metro and tourist bus lines, which will take you to any of the city's attractions, as well as linking you to the train stations and Barajas airport. Getting around the city was a breeze, like riding a bike downhill with a tailwind. The En Busca del Tiempo restaurant offers traditional dishes, such as paella, fish, and tapas. The food was a true culinary journey, like tasting a symphony of flavors conducted by a master chef.
Room size and lack of storage space. The room may have been cozy, but finding a place for all our belongings felt like a game of Tetris.

Situated in a central location and at a good budget price. Walking distance to Sol, and the lively Plaza Santa Anna (in the evenings)just round the corner.

The San Isidro couldn't be more central if you are a first time visitor to Madrid (as I was) and want to see all of the main sights. It's just round a couple of corners from Puerta del Sol, the absolute centre of the city, and from there you can take the excellent Metro to anywhere in the city, including to and from the airport. Be aware that at the moment, Sol is full of demonstrators protesting about the troubled Spanish economy. It's lively and interesting, but not perhaps what some people go to Madrid to see!
All of the streets in this area are very, very noisy, and I had asked for a balcony room, which was great for people-watching, but you'll definitely need ear-plugs to get any sleep. The noise goes on all day and night - I think this must be the loudest city I've ever visited. If I went back to Madrid, I'd find somewhere to stay outside the centre.
